Vintage Spring Style With JORD

We’ve been spending so much time outside since the spring has started. Less TV. More fresh air. Less time at the stove top. More time at the grill. Less time picking up toys. More time picking wild flowers.

I recently had an amazing opportunity for a collaboration with Jord, but since I had already won one of their AMAZING watches from Debbie at To Thine Own Style Be True, my husband got a chance to try one out, and it’s become one of my favorite statement pieces. (I may have to steal it from time to time…except he basically sleeps with it on!) He got the Dover series in Olive & Acacia, but really had a tough time choosing since they all look amazing. He loves how you have to wind it up to make it work. It’s like a little piece of history right on his wrist.

WatchKevin-7

Do you remember fidgeting with your grandfather’s pocket watch ever? This watch brings back that nostalgia of childhood but with a sophisticated twist. The mix of the creamy and rich colors on this watch are perfect for honoring that eclectic yet modern side of you. Neither one of us had owned a wooden watch before our JORD’s, and I don’t think we’ll ever go to another brand. Like I’ve said before, I stand behind the brands that I show you, and these watches are really that great.

I appreciate a piece that tells a story, not just something that’ll be here one moment and forgotten the next. There’s a timeless beauty (no pun intended) about these watches. They feel great, they’re made well, and the details are beautiful. I’ve never been someone who’s wanted a watch that tells me everything that a computer can, so the simplicity of “just a watch” is perfect .

Kevin’s watch has already been so many places. Right as he opened the box, you could tell it was going to be something special. There’s a fresh cedar smell that just takes over your senses, and brings you back to warm memories. And the box top is magnetic!

Just about every person who’s seen his watch has commented on it! The creamy, light colors just scream spring to me. Kevin paired it with a nice floral tie and tie bar from Dazi for a fresh look.

And here’s the most exciting part of this post! I’ve teamed up with JORD to give one lucky winner a $100 e-gift code, and all other entrants will receive a $25 JUST for entering my contest! How great is that?! Just click on this link to fill out the giveaway form!

Black Isn’t Just for Winter

Black is a staple in my wardrobe. I love color, too, don’t get me wrong. But black is just sleek, chic, and practical for anyone’s wardrobe. I feel like it’s the one color you can wear everyday, and it looks like a new outfit…even if it’s the same top every single day. No one knows somehow!

BlackOffShldr-22

My favorite black top for the spring weather right now is this off the shoulder blouse from Pink Blush. It’s casual and dressy all at the same time. It’s the chameleon of tops. Off the shoulder styles (tops or dresses) are almost like putting on a piece of jewelry without putting jewelry on at all. It’s just automatically a bit fancier. And being a mom, I need to be able to look put together really quickly!

BlackOffShldr-20BlackOffShldr-19

I paired it with my skinny Joe’s Jeans, pearl tassel necklace from White House Black Market, and favorite pair of Melissa flats. The necklace is sold out, but here are two great rose gold alternatives here and here. You can’t say that this black isn’t feeling springy with the rose gold, white, and blush accessories!

Hallen had to get in on a mommy and me monochromatic outfit as well! Her romper is releasing April 1st from Wicked Good Vibes, and is coming in a few different prints!

She always has so much fun finding stuff in nature and learning about it. It’s so fun to watch her learn what things do…like this dandelion, or today she learned what a beetle really was (not just in a book or on TV). Her and her little friends all sat outside in their diapers watching a green beetle crawl all over the grass, and they couldn’t stop laughing! Their cute giggles make even the worst days so good!

That’s making this spring even more fun. It’s like I get to relearn things, and just see everything with a fresh pair of eyes.

I also paired this blouse with one of my favorite “vintage” high waisted skirts. I say “vintage,” because I bought it from Zara when I was in college! So, it’s probably 10 years old! That makes me feel dated saying that out loud! But here are some similar styled skirts here and here.

These wedges (that I’ll be wearing until it turns cold again) are another favorite in my closet. I bought them three years ago for our baby moon to France! I’ll always spend a little more money for comfortable shoes, especially now that I’m old ha! They’re from Clarks. I wish they still had this style, because I’d buy them in every color. These shoes have so many good memories and miles attached to them. And after three years of a lot of walking, they’re still holding up really well! So, here are some newer Clarks to look at here and here.

Alright Spring, Do Your Thing.

It’s here! It happens the same day every year, and yet it’s such a day to rejoice when it actually happens! Because on March 20th, we know that even if it’s still snowing, warmth is just around the corner. I like to treat the first day of spring like a holiday. Buy some flowers for the house. Go on a walk in flip flops and no jacket. Maybe start putting sweaters away. Take a look in my bathing suit drawer. Perhaps, go on a casual run/walk to feel like I’m getting in shape for shorts season! You know you do it too!

Spring is just a feeling of rejuvenation. You feel like you’re 10 pounds lighter, even if you gained weight over the winter. You feel more motivated and ready to get your tasks checked off your list. For me, it was just vacuuming! I hadn’t done it since Hazel was born! Annndddd folding three (okay four) loads of laundry. Don’t judge! At least I got them washed.

Everything seemed to blossom in the south about a month early this time. I’m hoping that means our last freeze also took away all the pollen! Wouldn’t that be great? So, we’ve been able to enjoy the beauty of spring without the stickiness for a little while. Around us, there are some beautiful peach orchards, and peach trees have gorgeous blossoms. Because, you know…South Carolina has the best peaches. It’s not Georgia!

WhiteDress-9

They’re almost like miniature cherry blossoms, except without the crowds surrounding them at the Cherry Blossom Festival.

And what better way to invite springtime in than with an off-shoulder ivory dress from Ingrid & Isabel. I love the length of this dress. It’s perfect for any activity (except working out maybe…), and you can throw on flip flops, booties, or wedges for different looks! You can even add a little belt and a hat for a nice style.

WhiteDress-5WhiteDress-2

I love that it’s an unassuming and demure dress, but is so stylish and still shows a peak of skin. I think that some of women’s best features to highlight are their collar bones and shoulders, and this dress does just that. It’s beautiful. Perfect for pregnant and nursing mamas or for someone who’s looking for the perfect spring dress. Ingrid & Isabel also just released an off the should lace top that’s a similar style to this! That’ll be my next purchase!

Blush is the New Black

I’m seeing blush everywhere this season! It’s everyone’s favorite shoe, top, pair of pants, accessory, and bag. And I have to say…I’m in that crowd. It’s such a sweet color and it’s a great neutral. Blush is such a nice change from the winter black (not that spring is taking my black from me), and a better transition color than just tan.

BlushZipTop-9

I can’t think of one skin tone that it doesn’t compliment and look good on. And this zipper blouse from Pink Blush is a great staple piece to start with. It’s nice and relaxed, so you can pair it with any bottom…and for you nursing moms, the zipper makes nursing  your babe easy! That’s always something I’m looking for in tops now.

BlushZipTop-8BlushZipTop-11

A zipper detail is always one of my favorite things on clothing. Whether its a large zipper on the back of the dress, side zips on skinny ankle jeans, or a small zipper on my top. It just adds a little bit of chic to your outfit.

You may be seeing this top more than you want to in my spring wardrobe. It’s so soft and light weight. I just hope our spring weather comes back soon! I am glad to be in the south so that the snow we got this week melted by the afternoon. All you northerners had to deal with FEET of snow. Yikes! Maybe you just need to wear some blush to feel like it’s springtime…or drink some rosé in your rose colored glasses!

BlushZipTop-5BlushZipTop-4BlushZipTop-1BlushZipTop-7

I paired this top with some crisp white Joe’s Jeans and some wedges. The perfect spring outfit. I even stayed comfortable pushing our new Baby Jogger double stroller around without breaking a sweat (it could be because the winter winds started coming in, but I’m going to attribute it to the stretch in all the fabrics, and ease of the stroller of course)! Review of the stroller coming soon and why we chose it!

Hazel’s carseat is all snuggled in my favorite carseat cover from Trendy Treehouse. So many fabrics to choose from to customize it for you and your sweet babe.
